Raven Keyes, Medical Reiki Leader and Advocate

The Passing of An Amazing Healer and Teacher

This blog has been very challenging to write. The Reiki community is deeply saddened by the passing of Raven Keyes, a revered leader and advocate. I had the honor of encountering her and learning from her teachings in November 2019. Raven, a small yet striking blonde woman, possessed a captivating personality and seemingly boundless energy, which was impressive for someone of her stature. Her teaching methods were exceptional, emphasizing the well-being of her patients above all else. It is difficult to accept that she is no longer with us, but her profound impact will never be forgotten. She leaves behind a remarkable legacy of trained and Certified Medical Reiki Masters who are eager to carry on her legacy of compassionate healing. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to train with Raven, and all who were fortunate enough to know her will deeply feel her loss.

During open-heart surgery, Raven made history as the first Reiki practitioner to participate in such an operation. Dr. Mehmet Oz, a renowned physician, personally invited Raven to observe the effects of Reiki energy during the delicate procedure. Raven's firsthand experience was so profound that she later shared the graphic details with us. Her account served as a powerful inspiration for us to consider the potential of Reiki as a viable option for medical care in hospitals.

Raven Keyes has been recognized as the most exceptional Reiki master in New York City by none other than the prestigious New York Magazine. Her remarkable expertise in Reiki has been showcased in the pages of Vogue, while her contributions to Psychology Today have further cemented her reputation in the field. Raven's compassion for others is evident in her selfless act of volunteering her Reiki services after the tragic events of 9/11. She is also a prolific author with several books, including The Healing Power of ReikiThe Healing Light of Angels, and Medical Reiki: A Ground Breaking Approach to Using Energy Medicine for Challenging Treatments.
